What are Krastite Poles

You may have heard of the biggest update to moss poles and plant support for a long time - Krastite Poles! We wanted to delve a little further into these poles, and find out why they are so popular.

Firstly, they're 100% compostable, so unlike traditional poles containing plastic, you know that these poles will not provide a lasting impact on the environment.

They are created using local waste potato peels, and Miscanthus Giganteus Elephant Grass, therefore they are strong and supportive and boast a low carbon mileage.

You can use the poles exactly how you use traditional moss poles, there are even Krastite clips, and extensions so you can be sure you have everything that you need for mature growth. A number of people on the Facebook group have been using them successfully, although if you're using semi hydro set-ups, you will need to ensure the pole isn't in direct contact with damp substrate.

The best part? They do not need watering/misting to allow for aerial roots to attach, they're best used in a high humidity environment, and epiphytes will attach their aerial roots with minimal input.
